Renewed in Christ

Bible Verse of the Day - Ephesians 4:23-24

New International Version (NIV):

"to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."

King James Version (KJV):

"And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness."

New King James Version (NKJV):

"and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness."

New Living Translation (NLT):

"Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy."

English Standard Version (ESV):

"and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness."

The Message (MSG):

"A life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you."

What We Learn:

This passage teaches us about transformation in Christ. When we accept Jesus, we are called to renew our minds and live differently from our old ways. This renewal is not just a one-time event but a daily process through the Holy Spirit.

We are no longer bound by our past mistakes or sinful nature. Instead, God calls us to put on a new self—one that reflects His righteousness and holiness. This means aligning our thoughts, actions, and attitudes with His will, allowing His character to shine through us.

Reflection:

  1. In what areas of your life do you need to allow God to renew your mind?
  2. Are there old habits or thoughts that you need to surrender to Him today?
  3. How can you actively "put on" your new self in Christ in your daily life?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the new life I have in Christ. Help me to renew my mind daily and let go of my old ways. Fill me with Your Spirit so that my thoughts, actions, and attitudes reflect Your righteousness and holiness. Teach me to walk in the newness of life You have given me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
