God's Unchanging Faithfulness

Bible Verse of the Day: Numbers 23:19

NIV (New International Version):  

"God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?"

KJV (King James Version):

"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"

NKJV (New King James Version):

"God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?"

NLT (New Living Translation): 

"God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?"

ESV (English Standard Version):  

"God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?"

MSG (The Message):  

"God is not man, one given to lies, and not a son of man changing his mind. Does he speak and not do what he says? Does he promise and not come through?"

From Numbers 23:19, we learn several important truths about God's nature:

1. God's Integrity and Truthfulness: 

God is entirely truthful and trustworthy. Unlike humans, who may lie or deceive, God always speaks the truth. His words are reliable, and we can confidently trust His promises.

2. God is Unchanging: 

Unlike humans, who change their minds or go back on their word, God does not change. His purposes and plans are constant. When He says something, it is final, and He follows through without wavering.

3. God’s Faithfulness:

This verse teaches us that God is faithful to fulfill what He has spoken. Every promise He makes is guaranteed to come to pass. We can rely on Him to act according to His word.

4. Dependable Promises: 

God's nature and character give us assurance that what He promises, He will do. This verse calls us to trust in God's faithfulness, knowing that His words are never empty.

Overall, we learn that God is perfect in His truthfulness, faithful in His promises, and unchanging in His character. This gives us a solid foundation for our faith, knowing we can fully depend on Him in every situation.
