Be Strong and Courageous

Bible verse of the day - Deuteronomy 31:6

New International Version (NIV):

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

King James Version (KJV):

"Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."

New King James Version (NKJV):

"Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you."

New Living Translation (NLT):

"So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you."

English Standard Version (ESV):

"Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you."

The Message (MSG):

"Be strong. Take courage. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t give them a second thought because God, your God, is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you. He won’t let you down; he won’t leave you."

We learn several key lessons from this verse:

1. Be Strong and Courageous:

God commands us to face life's challenges with strength and courage. This is not just physical strength but also inner confidence, knowing that God is on our side. It is a call to stand firm in faith, even when circumstances seem daunting.

2. Do Not Be Afraid:

Fear can paralyze us, but God encourages us not to let fear control our actions. He tells us to resist fear and not be intimidated by the opposition or obstacles we face. This implies that while fear may arise, we should not let it dictate our decisions or mindset.

3. God's Presence:

A powerful reassurance throughout this verse is the promise that God is with us. Whether we are in battles, tough situations, or moments of uncertainty, we are reminded that we are never alone. God's presence gives us the confidence to move forward.

4. God’s Faithfulness:

The verse emphasizes that God will neither leave us nor forsake us. This teaches us about God's unwavering faithfulness. He keeps His promises and remains by our side no matter what we go through. This is a comforting reminder that even in the darkest times, God is dependable.

5. God's Leadership:

In the NLT and MSG translations, there is a special emphasis on God going ahead of us. This teaches us that God is not just with us; He also leads the way, preparing the path before us. He knows what lies ahead and guides us safely through it.

In summary, we learn to trust God completely. His presence and faithfulness empower us to face any situation without fear, knowing He is guiding and protecting us every step of the way.
